Selected Tools and Research Interests

Arch
3D DDM

This geomechanical module is based on YouWol new 3D Displacement Discontinuity Method (DDM) called Arch, which allows the modeling of deformation and stress around faults, salt bodies and other mechanically active objects within areas of complex geological background.

Vinci
2D DDM

This geomechanical module is based on YouWol new 2D Displacement Discontinuity Method (DDM) called Vinci, which allows the modeling of deformation and stress around faults, salt bodies and other mechanically active objects within areas of complex geological background.

Cassini
FEM

This enhanced restoration technology and workflow, based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) and continuum mechanics solution, provides the industry with the most advanced 2D and 3D geological structural restoration modeling based on physics.

Multiparametric
Inversion

Dashboard_inversion

This technology consists of finding mechanically-based solutions for inverting multiple parameters such as displacements and far field tectonic stresses from observed deformation, strain or stress data. These techniques have several industrial and research applications.

True 3D Failure
Criterions

We are working on a true 3D failure criterion that can deal with anisotropic materials. This is based on an energy criterion that we are developing. This failure criterion could be applied to wellbore stability evaluation and embedded into DDM and/or FEM.

Fracture
Propagation

This research topic is about the propagation of natural or induced fractures based on the principle of fracture mechanics. It should allow the modeling of hydraulic fractures from wellbore and their interaction with pre-existing natural fractures observed or inferred around drilled wells.

Research & Collaborations

There are more than 300 available references of scientific publications related to the tools we have developed and provided to researchers since 1995 (list of publications to be made available soon).

We believe that collaborations lead to better ideas and ultimately better products that will benefit everyone. With this core belief we aim to collaborate with research groups, universities and our customers on different aspects of our technologies and tools.

The YouWol Platform

All our technologies and tools are developped and accessible throught our online workspace, the YouWol Platform.
